BEST ADVICE FOR MARRIED COUPLES

BEST ADVICE FOR MARRIED COUPLES

In marriage, two different entities that grew up separately in their different families, background and world in general, with different upbringing and ideologies of life, come together as one to live together forever. It is not an easy adventure, rather it’s one that must come with uncountable ups and down which are overcomeable with love, respect and understanding. As a husband and as a wife, never compare your spouse to anybody, not even your mother, father, brother, sister… Married men and women, this advice is for you:

Don’t make outsiders your problem solver
Face and fix any problem affecting your home yourself don’t involve outsiders to solve your family problems for you.

Listen to advice but make your decisions
You should be able to pay strict attention to advice especially those ones coming from an elder. But mostly, you should be able to sieve out the ones that won’t help matters and take the rest. Don’t allow people’s advice to make your decisions for you rather make your decision yourself.

Your home should be a friendly place
Don’t make your home a ground of quarrel, malice and war; rather make it a friendly place conducive for you and your partner.

Know what rocks your boat not what rocks other’s boat
Many people end up admiring other people’s marriage or forcing what they admire in their friend’s marriage into their own marriage, or what used to take place in their previous families when they were still single forgetting that what rocks others boat might not rock theirs, forgetting that their mother/father are different being from their partner.
You have to know this;
That your friend doesn’t cook and her husband never complains doesn’t mean that if you stop cooking for your husband, he won’t complain.
That your Father never drinks alcohol doesn’t mean that your husband won’t.
That your mother uses N500 to make a pot of food doesn’t mean that your wife must do the same
That your mother cooks every food you eat doesn’t mean you won’t take your family to eat out once in a while.
Know what rocks your boat, and enjoy its outcome.

Don’t lose your charm
Remain beautiful, handsome, cute, attractive, intelligent… forever. Don’t loose those charms you had when you were single in marriage, rather add more to the ones you already have, look more attractive, cook more delicious meals…

Pray together often without season

Prayer is the master key to everlasting joy and happiness in marriage, make sure you pray together with your partner every day.
