CRK should be reviewed to deepen the right values — Odivwri

CHAIRMAN, Board of Directors, Amazing Talents Schools, Mr. Eddy Odivwri, has said that Christian Religious Knowledge, CRK, must stand as a full subject with a reviewed content to deepen the right of life in children.
Odivwri, who said this at the 10th anniversary, graduation and prize-giving ceremony of the school in Lagos, stated that CRK should not be made part of civic education.
He said: “The need to produce children sound in both head and mind cannot be overemphasized. If as a subject (CRK), we have had as much social problems in our society, it can only be reasoned that the situation will get even worse with the subjugation of CRK under other courses of study.
“Rather than step down the subject; I believe we should step up all ways and means of inculcating right, noble and progreesive values into our children, be it through effective teaching of CRK or Islamic Religious Knowledge or even imbibing of our socio-cultural value system.”
He also revealed that parents and schools must collaborate to produce regenerate children who can both hold their own in the global space, as well as make Nigeria proud, adding that parents should not be weary of offering any and every support the school needs in order to do their best.
Commenting on achievements of the school after 10 years, Odivwri said: “As a testimony, the performance of our children in academic and sporting competitions has continued to get better and better. Only recently, the school recorded a 100 percent success at the Lagos State Model College entrance examination, just as we have achieved remarkable feats in other fields.”
He said the school is poised to improve the stock of the next generation of Nigerians, starting in their own little corner. “This explains why we have hinged our activities on the four cardinal pillars of knowledge, technology, morals and discipline
